Itinerary
Day 01: Paro – Thimphu (Approx. 1.5 hours drive)
Arrive at Paro International Airport, where you’ll be greeted by your guide and driver. Enjoy stunning views of the Himalayan peaks during your descent into the beautiful Paro valley.
On your way to Thimphu, stop at Tachhog Lhakhang, a charming temple accessible via an ancient iron chain bridge spanning the Pa Chhu (Paro River). The fluttering prayer flags and serene surroundings provide a peaceful welcome to Bhutan.
Before entering Thimphu, visit Simtokha Dzong, Bhutan’s oldest fortress, perched on a scenic ridge. Upon arrival in the capital city, check into your hotel and later visit Tashichho Dzong, a grand example of Bhutanese architecture and the administrative and monastic seat of the government.
In the evening, take a relaxing stroll through the town. Enjoy a cozy café and connect with the peaceful ambiance of the city.
Overnight in Thimphu
Day 02: Discover Thimphu
Start your day with a visit to Buddha Dordenma, one of the world’s largest sitting Buddha statues. The early morning view of Thimphu city from the site is simply spectacular.
Embark on a gentle Wangditse Hike through fragrant pine forests, apple orchards, and traditional homes. This easy 1.5-hour trail offers glimpses of the Buddha statue, Tashichho Dzong, and sweeping views of the valley.
Spend the afternoon at your leisure—either exploring the city’s markets, museums, or relaxing at your hotel.
Overnight in Thimphu
Day 03: Thimphu – Phobjikha (Approx. 6 hours drive)
Begin your journey to the serene Phobjikha Valley. En route, stop at Dochula Pass, where 108 chortens stand in silent prayer under the vast sky. Enjoy a warm drink while soaking in panoramic views of distant Himalayan peaks.
Upon reaching Phobjikha, visit the Gangtey Monastery, a center of spiritual learning and one of the most important Nyingma institutions in Bhutan.
Take the Gangtey Nature Trail, a beautiful 1.5-hour walk through pine forests and meadows with magnificent views of the glacial valley. In the winter, this area is also the home of the endangered Black-Necked Cranes.
End your day with a relaxing traditional hot stone bath amidst nature.
Overnight in Phobjikha
Day 04: Phobjikha – Punakha (Approx. 3 hours drive)
As you leave Phobjikha, observe the changing scenery from alpine woods to lush sub-tropical forests.
Stop at Chimi Lhakhang, known as the Temple of Fertility. Walk through charming villages and rice fields to reach this small hilltop temple, famous for its unique traditions and blessings.
Enjoy a picnic lunch by the riverside in Punakha. Later, visit the breathtaking Punakha Dzong, situated at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Admire its striking architecture and explore the sacred relics housed inside.
If you’re up for some excitement, consider an optional white water rafting experience along the Mo Chhu.
Overnight in Punakha
Day 05: Punakha – Paro (Approx. 5 hours drive)
Travel back to Paro, a town rich in history and natural beauty. Explore Kichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred temples, believed to have been built in the 7th century.
Visit Namgay Artisanal Brewery to sample locally brewed craft beer in a traditional Bhutanese setting.
Later, take a leisurely walk through Paro town, with its colorful shops, quaint buildings, and warm hospitality.

Day 06: Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang)
Start early for a memorable hike to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery, one of Bhutan’s most iconic and sacred sites. Perched dramatically on a cliff, this spiritual marvel rewards your effort with stunning views and serene surroundings.
According to legend, Guru Rinpoche flew here on the back of a tigress and meditated for three months, blessing the place and spreading Buddhism throughout Bhutan.
Spend some quiet moments at the monastery, absorbing its sacred energy before descending.

Discount
There shall be no charge for children up to the age of 5 years on Bhutan travel cost. However, those between the ages of 6 – 11 years get 50 % discount on daily rates.
