Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Paro & Sightseeing
Welcome to Bhutan! Upon arrival at Paro International Airport (Altitude: 2,280 m), you’ll be warmly greeted by our team. After a brief orientation, begin your exploration of the Paro Valley. Visit Paro Rinpung Dzong, a fortress-monastery with stunning views of the valley, and the National Museum housed in the ancient Ta Dzong watchtower. If time permits, enjoy a stroll through the charming Paro town.
Overnight in Paro.
Day 2: Trek to Bumdra Monastery
After breakfast, begin the scenic Bumdra Trek – a short yet rewarding overnight adventure. The hike starts with a gentle climb through pine and rhododendron forests, offering glimpses of distant Himalayan peaks. Midway, visit Choeki Dzong, a secluded temple. Continue uphill to reach the sacred Bumdra Monastery (Altitude: 3,500 m), nestled in a meadow dotted with fluttering prayer flags. The trek is around 7 km and takes 4–5 hours. Spend the night in a campsite near the monastery, under a sky full of stars.

Day 3: Bumdra – Tiger’s Nest – Drive to Thimphu
Today’s descent is one of the most scenic in Bhutan. The trail winds down through ancient forests, passing hidden temples and caves before arriving at the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang) – Bhutan’s spiritual jewel. After exploring the monastery, continue down to the base (approx. 4-hour hike) where your vehicle awaits. Drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city, located 68 km away (approx. 1.5-hour drive).
Overnight in Thimphu.
Day 4: Thimphu Sightseeing
Spend the day exploring Thimphu’s cultural landmarks. Begin with a visit to the Buddha Dordenma, a 169-foot statue overlooking the valley. Continue to the King’s Memorial Chorten, Folk Heritage Museum, and Textile Museum. Visit the Takin Preserve to see Bhutan’s national animal, and end the day with a stop at Tashichho Dzong, the seat of Bhutan’s government. Take time to explore the city’s vibrant cafes and handicraft shops.

Day 5: Thimphu – Punakha Sightseeing
Depart Thimphu for Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan. En route, stop at Dochula Pass (3,100 m), where on clear days, you can enjoy panoramic Himalayan views and visit the 108 memorial chortens. Continue to Punakha and visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, located at the confluence of the Pho and Mo Chhu rivers. Walk across the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan for a unique photo opportunity.
Distance: 76 km | Drive: 3 hours | Overnight in Punakha.
Day 6: Punakha – Wangdue Phodrang – Thimphu
Begin your return journey to Thimphu via Wangdue Phodrang, where you can explore local markets or visit the newly reconstructed Wangdue Dzong (if accessible). Enjoy scenic views as you drive through winding mountain roads back to Thimphu. Relax in the evening or explore the capital’s night market and eateries.
Distance: 90 km | Drive: 3 hours | Overnight in Thimphu.
Day 7: Thimphu – Paro Departure
After breakfast, drive back to Paro Airport (54 km | 1 hour). Our team will assist you with departure formalities and bid you farewell. Depart with cherished memories of Bhutan’s majestic landscapes, spiritual heritage, and warm hospitality.

Discount
There shall be no charge for children up to the age of 5 years on Bhutan travel cost. However, those between the ages of 6 – 11 years get 50 % discount on daily rates.
