Overview:
Experience one of Bhutan’s most vibrant cultural events—the Paro Festival. Held every spring in Paro Dzongkhag, this colorful celebration features traditional mask dances, folk performances, and the grand Tsehchu ceremony. Attracting locals and visitors from around the world, it offers a deep cultural insight into Bhutanese heritage amidst stunning Himalayan landscapes.
Day 01 | Arrival in Paro
Arrive at Paro International Airport, where our Travellers representative will welcome you. Transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples, and the historic Drukgyel Dzong ruins. Explore Paro town in the evening.

Day 02 | Paro Festival
Spend the entire day at the Paro Tshechu, Bhutan’s grandest festival. Enjoy sacred mask dances, spiritual rituals, traditional music, and comic relief by Atsaras (clowns).

Day 03 | Paro Festival & Tiger’s Nest Hike
Attend the morning session of the festival. In the afternoon, hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), perched on a cliff 900m above the valley floor. The hike takes about 2 hours uphill.

Day 04 | Paro – Thimphu (1.5 hrs)
Drive to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. On arrival, visit Memorial Chorten, Buddha Point for a panoramic view, and Changangkha Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in the valley.

Day 05 | Thimphu – Punakha (2.5 hrs)
Visit a handmade paper factory, School of Arts and Crafts, Folk Heritage Museum, National Library, and Institute of Traditional Medicine. Meet the nuns at Zilukha Nunnery. After lunch, drive to Punakha via the scenic Dochula Pass (3200m), with panoramic views of Bhutan’s peaks.

Day 06 | Explore Punakha
Visit Punakha Dzong, home to Bhutan’s most elaborately decorated temple. Explore a girls’ souvenir center supported by the Youth Development Fund. In the afternoon, relax or take a short hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten or Chimi Lhakhang, the fertility temple.

Day 07 | Punakha – Paro (3.5 hrs)
Return to Paro. After lunch, visit the National Museum and, if lucky, watch a traditional archery match. Enjoy leisure time at your hotel.

Day 08 | Departure
Transfer to Paro Airport for your onward flight. Your guide will see you off.

Discount
There shall be no charge for children up to the age of 5 years on Bhutan travel cost. However, those between the ages of 6 – 11 years get 50 % discount on daily rates.
