How Much Does It Cost to Travel to Bhutan?
The cost of traveling to Bhutan depends largely on the duration of your stay, the type of accommodation you choose, and whether you’re traveling solo or in a group. All international travelers, including Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI cardholders), are required to pay a Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of US$100 per person, per night. This fee contributes to Bhutan’s environmental and cultural preservation efforts.
In addition to the SDF, travelers will also incur entry fees for museums, monuments, and cultural festivals. Bhutanese tour operators and international agents offer tour packages that include costs above the SDF, such as accommodation, transportation, meals, guide services, and other travel arrangements.
The Department of Tourism offers special discounts for longer stays, making extended visits more cost-effective. Please contact us directly for details on available discounts and personalized packages.
